Armor Where the Hits Land
Tassets are thigh armor: overlapping plates that hang from the waist and guard the upper legs, the piece that continues your armor below the belt. Epic Armoury's are full grain leather or suede, built in layered, riveted segments that move with every step, lunge, and sprint, because thighs are among the most-hit target zones in LARP combat and the most commonly bare ones. If your torso is armored and your legs aren't, this is the gap in your kit, and in many rulesets it's a gap that costs you hit points.

Leather or Suede?
Same designs, two finishes. Classic leather takes a polish, sheds rain and mud easily, and reads as hardened armor. Suede carries a matte, weathered depth that swallows light and looks lived-in from day one: the rougher, quieter choice for characters who don't want to gleam. Protection and construction are identical, so the choice is purely which story your kit tells.
Why Tassets Beat Full Leg Armor
Full greaves and cuisses protect more but cost weight, heat, and mobility, and most fights never reach your shins. Tassets are the efficient middle: they cover the thigh hit zone that actually gets targeted, add nothing to your legs themselves, and go on and off in seconds at the start and end of a fight day. For festival heat, long campaigns, and characters built on speed, they're the leg protection you'll actually keep wearing at hour ten.
